Ding 20!

I finally reached level 20 on my "main" character in Warhammer Online today. That means I get a mount! \o/ I have been playing a Magus for the past few weeks to complement the NK's Goblin Shaman, and though we hadn't been able to play together until recently because I had to catch up with him, the past week or so we have been an awesome team. He heals, I kill everything with magic. I wasn't sure I would like playing a Magus due to the fact that their straight damage output isn't as good as a Sorceress, and I do so like to blow things up with magic. But I feel pretty effective and a lot less squishy with my demon summons hurling fireballs at my enemies from afar, and my demon summons that blow up when someone steps too close, and my demon that I ride around like an unholy Chaos skateboard.

So, in other words, my Magus is the kind of caster I think I've fallen in love with. :D

This week also is the live Heavy Metal event for Warhammer, with daily tasks to be done and rewards based on the points you get for doing them. Today we got a trophy to wear on our armor, and at the end of the event, we'll get early access to the two new classes being added to the game.

NK and I want to play the new class Knight of the Blazing Sun when it's added and try to model it after Claymores (since you can wield a two-handed sword, glee. And by the way, I would sell my ovaries for that figurine). We're such nerds. The Warhammer website even has some fiction explaining the birth of the class and everything.

We are having SO MUCH FUN OMG.

New Filter.

So, as I mentioned a few posts back, I recently got promoted at work and it's been an awful lot of work. I'm really stressed right now and am bitching a lot about what's been going on, but I haven't been posting it here much. Partly because I don't have time, but also because I don't want to subject my whole flist to that, since I know some people find it annoying. To that end, I'm going to be creating a work filter. It's strictly opt in, so if you're someone who doesn't mind work bitching, and would like to be on this filter, just leave a comment and I'll add you.

This was posted over on the PA political forums

Has anybody seen it? I don't seem to recall it making the rounds, but I could be wrong (it took place during the presidential primaries, back when I was still ignoring politics because I was firmly in the "oh god, a woman and a black man? do you WANT us to lose, Democrats?" camp and YES, I WAS WRONG, and I'm glad I was).

At any rate, now I have seen it, and shown it to the Nerd King, and it made us both cry. Watching the tenor of the exchange change from what the interviewer obviously thought was an easy "let's get the camera up in this yokel's face and see how bad he makes Obama supporters look" to... well, the FACE OWNING that occurred is a beautiful thing.

It should have been EVERYWHERE on the internets. Should still be!

Man, if I keep posting about politics, I'm going to need an Obama icon.

Vidding

So, I've sort of been overdosing on vids this weekend. [info]kronos999 spent the afternoon at my house and we talked a lot of vidding and after dinner we watched some of my favourite vids. I still haven't gotten very far on the current vid I'm working on, 15 seconds! and btw, does anyone remember the specific episode this season where they used that special effect of zooming out of a room to outside and show off part of the city before zooming in on a new room? I want to use that, be damned if I can remember what episode it's from... :S

Anyways, a couple vidding things:

Anyways, a couple vidding things:
-<a href="&lt;a href=" http://vimeo.com/"="http://vimeo.com/&quot;">Vimeo</a> is an awesome site I saw rec'ed on a comm. It's a streaming site but the video seems to be of higher quality than YouTube and plays smoother than Imeem. I'm in love. Also, and probably my favourite part, it allows you to *download* the original uploaded version. This is so happy inducing. A good quality stream plus a good quality download free of any sort of converting. :D I'm in the process right now of uploading my own vids there, especially since one of my vids was taken down from YouTube last week.

-Vimeo doesn't have as many vids as other site, but they still have enough to go searching through, which is how I found this totally awesome SPN vid.

-I've also obsessively been watching this Torchwood vid most of the weekend. (<a href="http://sol-se.livejournal.com/52337.html">Here's</a> the vidder's LJ post if you'd like to download the vid)
